ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, MANUFACTURING ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

We are looking for an Associate Director, Manufacturing Assistance Programs to help lead the charge in providing impactful support, products and services to small and medium sized manufacturers across the State of Ohio.  Under the guidance of the MEP State Director, the Associate Director will assist with the execution of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program helping drive productivity, growth, innovation and global competitiveness of Ohio's manufacturers and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

Some of the duties this position will perform: 

  • Assists in financial operations of office
  • Interfaces with National Institute of Standards and Technologies MEP Administration (i.e., NIST MEP) and other federal officials to ensure efficient and accurate reporting of cooperative agreement activity, seamless transfer of data to relevant federal data basis and implementation of new policies and procedures that ensure State of Ohio support of federal objectives
  • Oversees budget development/management and information management
  • Travels to MEP sub recipient locations as needed
  • Collects reviews and processes invoices in a timely manner
  • Works to implement strategies to streamline invoice collection, processing and payment
  • Reviews all local MEP center costs and program income for compliance under NIST MEP grant agreement and applicable OMB circulars.
  • Oversees lead office federal time reporting, and monitors lead office spending and ensures proper tracking of expenditures on programs general ledger
  • Provides reports and updates to the State MEP Director
  • Collaborates with agency fiscal staff on preparation and submission of required federal financial reports including SF 425.

1.      1.   Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, or related technology-based field. 

2.   Substantial experience in a manufacturing environment to include work within project management, process improvements, or supply chain related disciplines.  

3.   Experience in working with the Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP) at the state or federal level preferred.

4.   Cooperative Agreement experience or grants administration experience preferred.

5.   Strong interpersonal skills required, with experience dealing with many types of people at all business levels (CEO, CFO level)

6.   Public speaking experience helpful.

7.   Working knowledge of computer software programs including spreadsheets and database management, as well as skill utilizing all forms of wireless devices to enhance work productivity.

8.   Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and be able to travel to work sites within Ohio and occasionally outside of Ohio.
