Job description

The primary purpose of the Groups Associate is dedicated to advancing Christ's Church's mission of disciple-making through the strategic development of small groups (T-Groups/D-Groups). This role fosters authentic relationships, spiritual growth, and transformative community experiences that empower individuals to deepen their walk with Christ. Through intentional leadership, support, and strategic development, the Groups Associate helps create environments where discipleship flourishes and lives are transformed.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Be a Disciple Maker: Foster a disciple-making culture by personally modeling intentional, relational, and transformation discipleship.
  • Align with Strategic Direction: Execute the primary direction and priorities as provided by the Formation Pastor.
  • Women's Discipleship Lead: The point of contact for all women engaging in disciple making relationships.
  • Develop and Empower Group Leaders: Recruit, train, and disciple Group Leaders who will lead impactful D-groups. Equip them with the resources and spiritual guidance needed to foster environments of growth, connection, and faith-building.
  • Strengthen Community Connections: Act as a liaison to community partners, Christ's Church Academy (CCA), and support groups, ensuring seamless collaboration for disciple-making efforts.
  • Participate in Adult Discipleship Team: Work alongside our adult discipleship team to see Jesus style discipleship modeled throughout Christ's Church.

PRIORITIES

  • Women's Discipleship: Organize women's events and key groups like "CCMoms" that seek to get women into disciple relationships. Lead and develop women's D-group leaders. Resource, encourage, equip women's T-groups.
  • Lead Discipleship Pathways: Oversee the steps leading to spiritual growth and connection to a small group community, ensuring effective leading and mentoring.
  • Equip Leaders and Volunteers: Provide training, communication, and resources to empower leaders in their ministry roles.
  • Strategic Support for Major Events: Collaborate with all areas of ministry to support worship services, special events, and community gatherings with intentional discipleship and care.
  • Proactively engage in All-Staff activities: Participate in required staff gatherings and provide team support when needed.
  • Budgeting and Expenses: Manage groups ministry expenses and budgeting

PROCESS & SYSTEMS:

  • Uphold Ministry Systems: Manage essential tools like ROCK for documenting spiritual journeys, volunteer engagement, and community care touchpoints.
  • Streamline Volunteer Management: Implement Shepherding system throughout groups discipleship environments.
  • Ensure Accountability and Reporting: Complete required dashboard reporting and maintain alignment with church policies and best practices.
  • Evaluate and Improve Ministry Impact: Regularly assess discipleship and care initiatives for effectiveness and opportunities for growth.
  • Observe Guidelines: Follow all established volunteer assimilation best practices and guidelines.
  • Administration: Utilize Paycom, Rock, and the Office 365 suite of products, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Practice a strict policy of confidentiality when dealing with church member information.
  • Office environment with occasional remote support and off-site meetings with volunteers.
  • May require physical activity such as lifting and transporting items up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work may be required to support projects and events.
  • Occasional travel to other locations or event venues may be required.
