Aon is looking for a Claims Professional I within Affinity's Huntington T. Block Insurance Division! As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by developing innovative and effective solutions as a claims professional within Affinity's Huntington T.

Block (HTB) Insurance Division based in Washington, D.C. We are open to remote dependent on candidate and experience. Summary This position manages and is responsible for all aspects of the assigned claim-related operation including first receipt of notice and the careful monitoring of claims via a diary process.

Provides outstanding handling of customer concerns and is accountable for business results through the effective and timely resolution of claims. Acts as a leader with vision crafting, maintaining, and handling claims information, statistical data and trending in support of claims management, client retention and new business production. Job Responsibilities + Liaison facilitating the claims process from first notice of loss through the timely settlement and payment of the claim. This includes the set-up of losses, indexing, coding and timely data entry for all claims in AuMine (agency management system). + Responsible for AuMine claims reports and insurer claims bordereaux. + As respects claims and the claims process has coaching and technical responsibility for the performance and development of HTB colleagues. + Adheres to company standards in terms of professional conduct and leading by example. + Assigns work, when appropriate and required, to outside Independent Loss Adjusters' subject to their abilities and geographic considerations. + Monitors handling of claims by TPAs and insurer claims personnel in order to ensure performance standards are met. + Provides timely notification to the President, Senior Underwriters, and the assigned relationship managers (i.e., Account Managers and Account Executives, etc.) and/or external agents and brokers if any. + Helps chairs the claims call and prepares meeting memo and implements any actions to be taken following the conclusion of the meeting. + Serves on the committee performing internal audits as part of HTB's quality assurance program as the need arises. + Delivers quality service to clients/policyholders, internal/external brokers & underwriters, insurers, Independent Loss Adjusters and other external concerns including TPAs. + Supports marketing by providing exceptional claims service and timely feedback to the Business Unit Leader on claims issues affecting Business Unit results. + Adjusts file reserves and approve settlements within authority, if any. + Produces risk management pieces and articles inline with our loss control and or loss prevention best practices. + Engages in and actively supports client relationship building and new client development, production efforts. + Keeps current on state regulations and issues, industry activity and trends. + Develops and maintains spreadsheets for tracking and improvement of claims-related statistical data pertaining to cause of loss and loss trends, etc. You Bring Knowledge and Expertise + 3 to 5 years property insurance claims experience required. + Property & Casualty broker license is required or must be obtained within six months of hire + Proven track record to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners; Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to effectively work independently and handle all aspects of HTB claims. + Technical expertise in the management and timely resolution of insurance claims. + Proficiency in PC office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
