Pay Range: Starts at$13.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Position Summary:

Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Membership Leadership Staff, the Membership Connector is responsible for increasing the growth of membership and revenue while creating a culture of outstanding customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Engage in active listening with members to develop sustainable relationships, determine individual goals and interests
  • Greet, interview and lead tours for potential future members
  • Place outbound calls and send emails to increase number of tours given to potential future members
  • Follow up on membership inquiries
  • Contacts non-member program users to establish relationship and acquaint with membership offerings
  • Records and tracks required information on tours that result in membership
  • Schedule Well Path Appointment for all new members
  • Connect members to specific programs and services; process program registration with the intent to increase member utilization of services and programs offered
  • Utilize Daxko Engage software to assist in facilitating connection with critical, low, and non-users to increase member retention, as needed
  • Process all change forms, transactions and cancellations, as needed
  • Reach out to membership terminations to ensure completion satisfaction
  • Complete the "termed" or the "non-renewal" surveys, as needed
  • Track and provide sales, terminations, recovery, and Well Path enrollment data updates to supervisor
  • Implement, distribute, and communicate all membership marketing campaigns and sales-related promotions
  • Assist with annual center and association member appreciation and recognition events and programs
  • Educate members on our not-for-profit mission and increase participation in Annual Giving Campaign
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA

An enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our Centers

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and internet usage)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous sales experience preferred

Certifications Required:
  • Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training
  • Within two weeks of hire: Membership Software training
  • Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED
