Job Description:

DigiLens is hiring an experienced, self-motivated Sr. Process Integration Engineer to develop world class waveguide manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will develop and optimize continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, yield and cost goals of the organization. This will involve exceptional collaboration with cross-functional/cross-company teams and tool vendors to meet device requirements for next-generation heads-up display products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive integration of manufacturing processes and process improvements in volume manufacturing of high-performance waveguides
  • Collect production data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and optimize process flows
  • Devise process control plans, troubleshoot process issues, identify process bottlenecks and solutions to resolve through data analysis, SPC review and failure mode analysis
  • Carry out experiments to determine the effect of processing variables on waveguide properties and performance
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to process equipment to improve performance, efficiency and utilization of resources
  • Transfer processes to high volume manufacturing partners and provide support in new factory startup
  • Collaborate with internal product development, as well as, with external manufacturing engineering teams
  • Domestic and International travel, as necessary to support job responsibilities

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • M.S. or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent field
  • 7+ years recent, hands-on experience in process development, integration, scale-up, troubleshooting and transferring new processes to high volume manufacturing
  • Experience in inkjet printing process/equipment development a plus
  • Understanding of optical device manufacturing processes and process flows
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Statistical techniques (DOE, Regression, Anova, SPC, Hypothesis Test, Process Capability Studies) for process development and process improvement
  • Solid analytical and technical problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Direct experiences in yield, integration, device, or process engineering organizations, or in development and integration of novel materials systems
  • Excellent at cross-functional innovation working with process, product design, reliability, and systems engineering teams
