This role sits at the intersection of worldwide Category, Product Marketing and Consumer Channel Sales and Finance requiring exceptional strategic leadership, executive influence, commercial acumen, and organizational leadership.
As a member of the global WDS Marketing Leadership Team, you will help shape the future direction of Microsoft's worldwide marketing organization while leading one of its largest global teams.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how customers around the world discover, choose, and experience Microsoft's devices, productivity cloud, and AI innovations. You will lead one of WDS Marketing's largest global organizations while helping define the future of omnichannel marketing, partner engagement, and AI-powered customer experiences. This role has end-to-end accountability for worldwide go-to-market marketing across Surface and Microsoft 365, spanning strategy, campaigns, storytelling, partner marketing, field execution, growth marketing, and business performance.

Responsibilities
Lead Ecosystem Growth
  • Develop and execute the worldwide retail marketing strategy across Surface and Microsoft 365, creating one connected customer journey from device discovery through subscription, engagement, and customer lifetime value.
  • Accelerate profitable growth across Surface, Microsoft 365, and Copilot by balancing acquisition, attach, subscription growth, ASP, profitability, and brand equity.
  • Translate Microsoft's AI innovation into compelling customer experiences that differentiate our ecosystem across retail and marketplaces.

Drive Global Go-to-Market Excellence
  • Lead worldwide product launches, seasonal campaigns, and sustained demand generation across Surface and Microsoft 365.
  • Develop integrated go-to-market strategies spanning physical retail, ecommerce, retail media, CRM, social commerce, digital merchandising, and seller engagement.
  • Partner with Category, Consumer Marketing, Sales, and Product organizations to deliver consistent worldwide execution.

Scale Through Strategic Partners
  • Develop global co-marketing strategies with retailers, distributors, OEMs, and strategic ecosystem partners.
  • Build scalable partner marketing programs that strengthen differentiation while creating measurable customer and partner value.
  • Drive excellence across merchandising, retail media, digital storefronts, in-store experiences, and seller readiness.
  • Enable worldwide field teams through scalable marketing frameworks, tools, and playbooks.

Create Best-in-Class Customer Experiences
  • Design connected omnichannel customer journeys across retail and digital channels.
  • Simplify customer choice through curated experiences.
  • Leverage AI to transform content creation, localization, campaign optimization, and marketing productivity.
  • Expand creator and influencer partnerships that build cultural relevance and authentic advocacy.

Optimize Marketing Performance
  • Own worldwide investment strategy, prioritization, and marketing performance across Surface and Microsoft 365.
  • Define and manage business KPIs including acquisition, subscriptions, attach, customer engagement, ROI, profitability, customer lifetime value, and brand health.
  • Apply analytics, experimentation, and AI-powered insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and scale global best practices.

Lead People and Culture
  • Inspire, lead, and empower a high-performing organization as by the business results you deliver.
  • Build your team members at every level, foster an inclusive culture where coaching, feedback, and career development are embedded in everyday practice, and create clarity, energy, and deliver success.

  • Serve as a member of the WDS Marketing Leadership Team, contributing to organization-wide strategy, talent development, operational excellence, and culture.
  • Influence executives across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and external ecosystem partners including silicon and 1st party apps.
  • Represent WDS Marketing with executive stakeholders across Microsoft's worldwide business.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 7+ years experience in channel marketing, retail marketing, product marketing, consumer marketing, or commercial marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience within consumer technology, retail, subscription, or platform businesses.
  • Demonstrated success leading worldwide marketing organizations across multiple product categories.
  • Experience driving both premium hardware and subscription business growth.
  • Proven success leading global co-marketing programs with strategic retailers, distributors, OEMs, and ecosystem partners.
  • Commercial and financial acumen with experience managing significant worldwide marketing investments and delivering measurable ROI.
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel customer journeys spanning physical retail, ecommerce, CRM, retail media, mobile, and social commerce.
  • Experience launching AI-enabled products and translating innovation into customer value.
  • AI fluency, with demonstrated ability to apply generative AI to transform marketing, improve productivity, optimize customer experiences, accelerate content creation, and drive data-informed decision making.
  • Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and influence skills.
  • Proven track record of building, developing, and leading large, high-performing organizations through multiple layers of leadership.

Partner Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
