Patient Service Representative

Promise Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is currently looking for a full time Patient Service Representative to work Monday through Friday. Promise is a fast-paced office that provides high-quality care to the underserved in the community and surrounding area. The Patient Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients upon arrival, registering patients, scheduling future appointments, answering incoming calls and other clerical duties. Key responsibilities include:
Register patients: collect patient demographics, verify insurance & eligibility, explain and assist with completion of appropriate registration forms, and collect patient payments
Schedule future appointments
Answer and assist with clinic phone calls in a patient friendly manner
Make confirmation and reminder calls
Scan all necessary patient documents to the electronic health record
Review income-based discounts and policies with patients
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required, college preferred
Strong customer service skills
Bilingual in Spanish or French preferred
We deliver primary medical, behavioral health, and dental services to the underserved as a Federally Qualified Health Center. Promise Healthcare provides over 44,000 patient visits and cares for over 12,000 patients annually through Frances Nelson, our SmileHealthy dental programs, satellites on Walnut at Rosecrance and the OSF Healthcare Heart of Mary Community Resource Center, and our mobile clinics.
