Metallurgist / Foundry Field EngineerCasting House Supplier Support

Field Engineer opportunity for an experienced Metallurgist with strong Foundry / Casting experience.

A home-office role with significant daily local travel (400 mi radius) located in Southern PA (Pittsburgh / Harrisburg / Philadelphia, PA area), Southwest VA, and NC (Greensboro/Charlotte)

This hiring company is seeking an experienced Foundry / Casting Engineer who has an interest in working beyond the traditional Foundry environment into a Field Engineer role, providing technical expertise / solving problems for foundry/casting suppliers in the MidAtlantic States – PA / VA / NC.

Responsibilities:

+ Partner with this company’s Account Managers to provide technical expertise for customers as well as assess and recommend suppliers’ optimal manufacturing processes from prototype to production
+ Function as the Metallurgical technical expert supporting casting houses (suppliers)
+ Troubleshoot part quality issues, work with foundry and machining facilities to achieve desired results
+ This is a people facing role, providing you the opportunity to effectively communicate solutions to all audiences – technical and non-technical

Experience:
+ >7 years working in a foundry / casting environment as a process engineer, quality engineer, or operations (sand molding, investment, no bake, etc)

Education:
+ BS Metallurgy / Materials Science Engineering
