Description

Join our team as a YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor and make a positive impact on our community by teaching essential water safety and swimming skills. We are seeking passionate, patient, and professional individuals dedicated to fostering a safe and enjoyable learning environment for participants of all ages and skill levels.


Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver engaging swim lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels

- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and monitoring activities

- Assess individual progress and provide constructive feedback to students

- Maintain a clean and organized pool area, including equipment and supplies

- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members regarding student progress and safety concerns

- Adhere to YMCA policies, safety standards, and best practices in water safety and instruction

- Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents/guardians

- Maintain records as required (attendance, progress reports, etc.)

- Be safety conscious at all times

- Make learning to swim a fun experience


Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- Current lifeguard certification and CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)

- Previous experience teaching swim lessons or working with children and adults in a water environment preferred

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism

- Knowledge of water safety protocols and swimming techniques

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
