Job description

The Shady Grove Family YMCA is looking for an experienced, motivated, and reliable swim team coach to help mentor and encourage our swim team participants. The pay range for this position is $15-$16 per hour based on experience & qualifications.

DUTIES of a Swim Team Coach

This position is responsible for providing workouts, instructions, motivation, and support to our swim team. Focus should be on creating a safe and fun environment. This position serves as the primary coach on deck during team practices and is expected to lead practices 2-4 nights a week.

QUALIFICATIONS of Swim Team Coach

Current Professional CPR, AED and First Aid and YMCA/or American Red Cross Lifeguard/or Ellis certification are required as well as the ability to perform all four strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle). YMCA Swim Instructor or WSI, current O2 certification, and competitive swimming experience are desired as well as experience coaching and managing team practices several days a week. Qualified candidates should have a strong sense of teamwork and ability to collaborate with other coaches and team leaders.
