- Working with other BI Developers, Cogito Developers, Analytics Business Analysts, Clinical Informatics, application teams, and customers to gather, analyze, and document reporting requirements, utilizing Epic's Cogito suite of tools to deliver data solutions
- Designing, coding, testing, and maintaining reporting and analytics objects, including extracts, utilizing industry best practices
- Providing production support and responding to help desk tickets related to the BI development tool set and Epic Cogito suite
- ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the Xtensys misson
- You provide technical guidance to various crossfunctional BI stakeholders
- You perform design and code reviews of developed solutions for quality assurance
- You follow ITS Analytics report build standards and change control processes, focusing on enterprise build and longterm system maintenance
- You design and develop metrics, reports, and analyses of intermediate to advanced complexity to drive key business decisions
- You collaborate with team members to develop BI solutions in a proficient and timely manner, consistent with estimates created during design
- You test solutions developed prior to any external reviews or testing
- You coordinate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Structured Quality Language (SQL) Administrators, BI Administrators, and others to understand and document technical requirements, capabilities, and limitations
- You prioritize tasks with guidance from the manager, designated lead, supervisor, or project manager
- You research questions and issues involving Production Reporting solutions
- Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority
- Must work within the constraints of multiple technical environments
- Demonstrated experience independently working with Clarity and Caboodle schema
- A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting in a similar role supporting report requests and use of Epic’s Cogito ergo sum Enterprise Intelligence suite and UserWeb
- A minimum of two years of experience with SQL writing complex, highly optimized queries across large volumes of data, query performance tuning, and stored procedures
- Demonstrated experience using Epic’s Reporting Workbench extract framework and Batch Scheduler
- Experience in at least 1 Epic implementation preferred
- Demonstrated experience working through the complete report development lifecycle for small to medium scale projects
- Strong understanding of BI reporting best practices
- The individual in this position must learn many organizational structures and cultures and continually foster collaboration
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Proven Track Record:
- Reporting lifecycle development including requirements gathering, tracking/updating build in Jira, and communication with requesters
- Supporting upgrades, Special Updates, completing Epic Nova Notes, utilizing Sherlocks, and Checklists as appropriate Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
- Current and active Epic certifications are required in Cogito, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, Clinical and/or Revenue Data Model
As the Epic Cogito Business Intelligence Developer Analyst, you will serve as a key contributor to our mission of delivering operational excellence across clinical and financial systems. In this role, you will report to the Cogito Application Manager, and play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise analytics solutions using Epic’s Cogito reporting suite.

Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel is required, primarily for go-live support to hospitals within the Central New York region.
Physical Readiness: Capability for sedentary work, including sitting for long periods and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force.
