Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
- This posting is for an experienced Sr Electrical Engineer that will lead the design and release of electrical parts and assemblies on High Density Liquid Cooling units. This Sr Electrical Engineer will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities as required in this dynamic environment to solve complex problems where no precedence exists.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead design of electrical systems for Liquid Cooling Systems including Two-Phase and Single-Phase Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
- Lead sizing and selection of electrical components based on offering and system requirements
- Lead design of unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
- Lead design of electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
- Lead design of wire harnesses including wire sizing, appropriate terminal connections and necessary routing
- Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
- Lead and review design work of junior level electrical engineers
- Work with software team to develop and verify system controls
- Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
- Implement product changes to solve field issues and support the service department
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in an electrical engineering field in product development role
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members
- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
- Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
- Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB and/or UL Standards for HVAC systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 4-6 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field.
- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
- Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
- Understanding of electrical schematic layout and creation
- Experience with communication and interconnect standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet
