We have partnered with a large Computer Hardware Manufacturing company in the Eden Prairie, MN area to provide them with a Principal Electrical Engineer. Please review the description below and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Principal Electrical Engineer:

#1. Must have at least 15yrs of Electrical engineering exp.

#2. Must have working knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers.

#3. Must have experience with RF communications such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11), and cellular.

#4. Must have protocol-level knowledge of serial interfaces including SPI, I2C and UART.

#5. No more than 3 jobs in the past 10yrs.

Requirements of the Principal Electrical Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in product design
  • Experience with embedded systems and microprocessor-based design
  • Experience with functional aspects of product design including understanding of requirements, general electrical design analysis and documentation creation, design for manufacturing/design for test, and design verification
  • Experience with leading teams including engineers from multiple engineering disciplines
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers
  • Protocol-level knowledge of serial interfaces including SPI, I2C and UART
  • Experience with analog design concepts and design tools such as SPICE and HyperLynx preferred
  • Experience with RF communications such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11), and cellular
  • Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, SATA, etc. preferred
  • Experience in medical device design or other regulated industries preferred
  • Experience with MS Office products including MS Project
  • Ability to work with both internal and external (customer) resources
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements for feasibility, cost and development timeline
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to write technical specifications and design documentation, create and author templates for engineering documents, create project proposals with technical details, present verbally in one-on-one or group settings
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction

Other Key Requirements:

  • This is a full-time, on-site position
  • Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am -5pm, but does allow for some flexibility
  • It may be necessary to work more than 40 hours per week at times to produce the required results
  • No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
