Job description

Our Boston, MA office is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist for our Buildings Group. In this role you'll participate and take the lead, in the planning, design and post design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; convention centers; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings.


Responsibilities:
Works with and assists senior engineers on their projects and take the lead on their own project under the review and supervision of the chief electrical engineer to perform the following project related efforts:

  • Develop designs using Revit and/or Auto CAD for power, lighting and fire alarm systems

  • Size and specify electrical equipment/systems

  • Performs electrical calculations using specialized engineering software

  • Lighting

  • Short-circuit analyses

  • Protective device coordination studies

  • Arc Flash Analysis

  • Develop reports and specifications, utilizing Micro Office Suite

  • Field surveys and documents existing conditions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

  • 5 years minimum relevant experience as an electrical engineering specialist.

  • Revit, AutoCAD and load calculation software

  • Experience with specification/report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks

  • Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Currently has EIT or EI certification leading to future PE licensure

Compensation Range:

$91,976.90 - $105,116.46
