Job Summary:
Butler Aerospace & Defense is a company that specializes in engineering solutions, and they are seeking an ECAD Support Engineer. The role involves serving as the first point of contact for Cadence ECAD tool issues and providing support for various Cadence tools and data management.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as first point of contact for Cadence ECAD tool issues
• Support Cadence tools such as OrCAD Capture, Allegro PCB Designer, and related modules
• Tool launch failures and environment setup
• License checkout and FlexLM errors
• Basic schematic and PCB layout “how?to” questions?
• Install and configure approved Cadence versions, templates, and user profiles
• Support basic ECAD data management / vault connectivity
• Log, track, and update incidents using Jira)
• Escalate advanced issues (performance, automation, libraries) per defined process?
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong knowledge of the Operating systems Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
• Hands on experience with Cadence ECAD tools (OrCAD / Allegro)
• Working experience with Perforce tools management Environment
• Understanding of Schematic capture, PCB layout fundamentals, Basic constraint management etc.
• Familiarity with ECAD libraries (symbols, footprints)
• Basic knowledge of Cadence licensing (FlexLM)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
• Minimum 3 years of experience IT Support / Cadence ECAD tools or electronic design teams
