Job description

Purpose
Pine Crest School offers summer camp for the Pine Crest community. Summer Counselors supervise campers with support in all areas and work collaboratively and in conjunction with Camp Administrators. Counselors should be good role models to campers.
Essential Job Functions
  • Supports the School's mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of the students/campers with play and interactions
  • Assists in the organization and supervision of students/campers at Summer Camp, including snack, lunch, arrival and dismissal procedures
  • Supervises playground and all activities as a point of contact
  • Assists with carline (e.g. opens and closes car doors for students)
  • Reinforces proper school behavior and communicates with Camp Administration (e.g. accident or behavioral) should an issue arise
  • Confers with Camp Administration, regarding the children, behavior issues, and progress
  • Promotes a positive environment and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Actively engages and participates with all camp activities; mirrors appropriate behavior
  • Follows directions set forth by supervisors
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee

Job Qualifications
Education
Minimum Education: Must be entering 10th grade or completed the Pine Crest CIT program as a 9th grader
Experience and Qualifications
Prefer experience working with children ages 4 to 12
Requirements Must be 14 years and older. If 14, must complete the CIT program and be rising 9th grader at the time of hire.
