SafeHouse Restaurant Kitchen Manager

Kitchen Manager sought for exciting restaurant concept located in downtown Chicago. The SafeHoue, a spy themed restaurant and bar is looking for a creative, fun and dynamic culinary leader.

The SafeHouse brand is 50 years old and recognized globally as an espionage-themed restaurant founded in Milwaukee, WI. Visiting agents [guests] experience pop culture references, spy paraphernalia and cold war artifacts. Our secret agent past and culture is an integral part of the intrigue!

Essential Functions:

• Purchase goods and manage cost controls
• Manage to a prime cost
• Enforce safe and sanitary food production standards
• Train and Develop Staff
• Assign in detail, specific duties to all associates under supervision
• Select, train and supervise kitchen staff in proper preparation of menu items
• Schedule culinary team so that proper coverage is maintained while managing payroll costs
• Ensure proper receiving, storage (including temperature setting) usage and rotation of food products so as to comply with the Health Department regulations
• Preventative maintenance of kitchen equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 - 5 years of kitchen/culinary leadership and/or management, past experience might include cook, chef, Sou Chef, Exec Sous, etc.
• Excellent communication skills
• ServSafe Certified
• Managerial or supervisory experience required
• Working knowledge of accepted safety sanitation standards
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to complete orders, read recipes and communicate with other team members
