The Program Coordinator is responsible for the ordering of Live & Simulcast Programs, including Daily Racing Forms, special programs, and other publications, as needed for the Racing Operation.
Essential Functions
- Oversees program and retail operations
- Responsible for staffing, training, and scheduling of program sellers
- Responsible for planning and ordering inventory and supplies
- Resolves guest complaints relating to all areas directly or indirectly related to racing, including TV presentation and product placement, programs, guest services and retail sales
- Ensures compliance of Standard Operating Procedures, safety regulations and ensure the optimal level of quality service and hospitality are provided to Thistledown guests.
- Ensure compliance with OSRC regulations related to race day activities, including guest/host relationships, proper reporting of cancellations, changes in procedures and the timely provision of documents necessary to maintain permits
- Manage vendor relationships with program provider(s). Keep inventories and coordinate with vendors to provide consistent and timely maintenance records, etc.
- Ensure financial balance on all daily transactions
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 21 years old at time of employment
- Ability to stand, walk, and run for entire shift and mobility to move easily around entire property.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Must be able to tolerate areas varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, and crowds.
- Ability to work independently; must be dependable and flexible
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS Outlook, and other related systems
- Must possess excellent customer and employee relations skills
- Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends
- Must be team-oriented
- Must present a well-groomed appearance
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior experience with inventory management preferred
Required Certification/License
- Must obtain a license from the Ohio State Racing Commission upon hire
