Job description

Job Title: System Administrator
Job Summary: Under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager, the System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure, O365, and Google Workspace environments. This role requires strong expertise in modern IT administration tools including Intune, PowerShell, and EntraID. The ideal candidate will support help desk personnel, maintain system security and compliance, and drive automation initiatives across our IT infrastructure.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Manage Google Workspace environment including user accounts, security settings, and integrations
  • Deploy and manage devices using Microsoft Intune, including policy creation, application deployment, and compliance management
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks and system administration
  • Configure and manage Azure Active Directory/EntraID including user provisioning, group policies, and conditional access
  • Administer and optimize SharePoint Online sites, permissions, and workflows
  • Maintain and query SQL databases for reporting and data management purposes
  • Enforce and suggest cyber security policies across cloud platforms
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure issues
  • Document technical procedures and maintain system configuration records
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and industry standards
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Technical Skills:
  • Microsoft Intune: Device management, compliance policies, and application deployment
  • PowerShell: Script development for automation and administration tasks
  • SQL: Database querying, basic administration, and reporting
  • SharePoint Online: Site administration, permissions management, and Power Platform integration
  • Azure: Core services administration including compute, storage, and networking
  • EntraID (Azure AD): Identity management, conditional access, and security configurations
  • Google Workspace: Administration and integration with Microsoft environments
  • O365 Administration: Full suite management including Exchange, Teams, and security features

Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration with focus on cloud technologies
  • Industry certifications preferred (examples: Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, Google Workspace Administrator)
  • Demonstrated experience with the required technical skills listed above

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of working at a computer for extended periods
  • May require occasional after-hours work for maintenance windows

Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with potential for hybrid/remote work arrangements
  • On-call rotation participation may be required
  • Must meet company driving standards for potential travel to remote sites
