The Lee Group is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator for a leading manufacturing and technology-focused organization in Williamsburg, VA. This role is ideal for a highly motivated IT professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys taking ownership of an entire site's IT infrastructure.
The IT Systems Administrator will serve as the primary on-site IT resource, supporting daily operations while managing infrastructure, endpoint devices, networking, security, and systems implementation. This individual will work closely with leadership, end users, external service providers, and international corporate IT teams to ensure efficient and secure technology operations across the facility.

Job Responsibilities of IT Systems Administrator
  • Administer and maintain on-premises server environments, including virtualization hosts and database servers.
  • Manage endpoint devices through Microsoft Intune within a Hybrid Active Directory environment.
  • Support Active Directory administration, user accounts, group policies, access permissions, and security settings.
  • Maintain network infrastructure, including switches and VPN connectivity.
  • Coordinate with external IT service providers regarding security monitoring, patch management, and escalated support issues.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for computers, printers, mobile devices, and manufacturing workstations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across the facility.
  • Lead planning, procurement, deployment, and implementation of new systems, software, and applications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, inventories, and licensing records.
  • Research and manage IT hardware and software purchases.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and confidentiality requirements related to regulated data and systems.
  • Serve as the primary IT liaison for all on-site departments.

Job Qualifications of IT Systems Administrator
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience in systems administration or senior-level IT support.
  • Previous experience serving as the primary or sole IT resource for a facility or small organization preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Hybrid Active Directory environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V or comparable virtualization platforms.
  • Experience planning and implementing IT systems, software, or infrastructure projects independently.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VPNs, and patch cabling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Windows operating systems.
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users.
  • Must be eligible to work with ITAR-controlled systems and data.

  • Work may occur within a manufacturing and industrial environment.
