Job description

Boston College is seeking a highly motivated Storage Systems Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Systems, Applications, Architecture, Network, and Security services to develop, maintain, and enhance a secure, high-integrity hybrid enterprise storage and compute infrastructure critical to the university community.

You will provide comprehensive support for SAN and NAS storage, backup/recovery environments, virtualization infrastructure, and container technologies by implementing and monitoring both hardware and software. This role is vital to our security, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts. Additionally, you will work with ITS management to evaluate and leverage Cloud solutions where appropriate.

Work Model: Hybrid. 3 days in-person required at the discretion of management.
Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:

Senior Storage Systems Administrator -Salary range 107,000 to 134,000: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.  Five years of experience implementing and administering high volume storage solutions in an enterprise environment. 

Storage Systems Administrator -  Salary range 92,000 to 115,700: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field. Three years of experience implementing and administering high volume storage solutions in an enterprise environment. 

Associate Storage Systems Administrator - Salary range 76,000 to 95,000: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field. One year  of experience in a technical environment with some storage operations or server technology responsibilities.
