SPA is hiring an IT Systems Administrator to support a multi-vendor infrastructure with a focus on Linux based systems. This position is aligned with the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division and located in their Chantilly, VA office.
The role will include designing secure system configurations, documenting, and managing the deployment and installation of hardware, software, and cybersecurity tool sets, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems with up to 10% travel to support remote events. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux while possessing background and functional knowledge in MS Windows, capable of providing technical solutions to meet the requirements of the SPA ORCA group and clients.

Responsibilities
The Systems Administrator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and implement new system and network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current information systems
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support information systems, routers, and switches, to include both physical and virtual
  • Configure routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Accurately document instances of equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal
  • Investigating faults in the systems and networks, perform analysis, diagnose, providing resolution of complex problems, and recommend and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate services, troubleshooting, and resolutions with 3rd party transport providers
  • Perform capacity analysis and planning to ensure growing user base and processing demand
  • Coordinate and execute scheduled upgrades
  • Reporting system status to key stakeholders
  • Accurately document and maintain ATO documentation including standard operating procedure development, artifact creation, submission of artifacts to ISSM and/or government representatives
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for monitoring and responding to Cybersecurity continuous monitoring requirements (SIEM, Log review, validation of security controls, etc.)
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring system operations
  • Interface with third-party support and equipment vendors as needed
  • Travel will be required to support remote client events, up to 10%

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years directly related experience
  • Experience with system design, system security design and best practice, system building process development (Linux, Secure Host Baselines, Windows Server, Windows OS, etc.)
  • Problem solving and time management capabilities
  • Experience working independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • US Citizenship required, successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must possess and maintain DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification
  • Security clearance (Top Secret//SCI Required), and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with routing and switching in multi-vendor environment (Dell, Cisco, Juniper)
  • Experience in VMWare and virtualized architecture and environments
