Integrated Marketing Manager, Sports & Events
VisitPITTSBURGH is seeking a highly organized, fast-moving, and collaborative Integrated Marketing Manager, Sports & Events, to support sports marketing and event-driven initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a strategic marketer with sports marketing experience who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and knows how to keep multiple teams and projects moving forward seamlessly.
Serving as a lead project manager, this position coordinates integrated efforts across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels-partnering closely with internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on time, on brand, and with impact.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as project manager, as directed by the Director, Marketing, overseeing planning, timelines, and deliverables of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Partners closely with leadership to understand objectives, audiences, and opportunities.
  • Leads the development of marketing efforts that support the organization's strategic goals- including local awareness, stakeholder engagement, event promotion, bid development, and Pittsburgh storytelling.
  • Supports the development of marketing strategies for major events and initiatives.
  • Writes, edits and prepares content for a variety of channels, including web, blog, newsletters, bid proposals, sales presentations and marketing collateral.
  • Manages social media presence, including content planning, posting, community engagement and performance tracking-collaborating with VisitPITTSBURGH's social team to align strategies, leverage content and maintain consistent messaging.
  • Manages marketing and communications for SportsPITTSBURGH-owned events and activations, overseeing marketing plans, signage, collateral and strategies to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Plans, writes and executes email campaigns to nurture leads, engage partners and educate stakeholders.
  • Collaborates closely with VisitPITTSBURGH's PR team to develop audience specific storytelling opportunities to highlight and promote Pittsburgh's sports assets, events, and venues.
  • Works with VisitPITTSBURGH's marketing, communications, social, and web teams to integrate sports or business content and messaging into broader destination marketing efforts.
  • Works in partnership with the Director, Marketing, to ensure alignment between marketing efforts and broader organizational initiatives.
  • Tracks progress and performance of all projects, providing regular updates, post-campaign recaps and key performance insights, presenting performance metrics as requested.
  • Collaborates with agency partners and external vendors, as needed, on marketing deliverables to ensure high-quality creative executions of the brand.
  • Coordinates photography, videography, and visual content needs to support annual marketing plans and event-based marketing needs as assigned.
  • Supports special projects and cross-departmental initiatives, as required.

Skills & Specifications
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field
  • Three to five years of professional experience within a complex, fast-paced marketing team
  • Experience in sports tourism industry preferred but not required.
  • A deep understanding of sports events, strong project management, collaboration and creative execution skills, working cross-functionally to ensure consistent brand alignment and measurable impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, project deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in digital communications tools and platforms (i.e. PowerPoint, Canva, Monday.com) preferred
  • Experience with email marketing tools and CRM systems preferred
  • Strong social media background to drive compelling digital content and storytelling
  • Limited travel required, approximately 20% local and 10% outside of Allegheny County

VisitPITTSBURGH is a hybrid working environment, with three days on-site required. Due to the nature of this role, occasional weekend and/or evening hours may be required to support selected events and initiatives.
