We are currently looking to fill an exciting Relief Part Time position as a Food Service Worker II, ECU at Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, B.C. This position is available until December 31, 2022 or Return of Incumbent.

Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor I, prepares meals in/for bulk rethermalization system.

1. Pans and portions food items as per prescribed methods following established menus, quantities and schedules for bulk rethermalization system.


2. Completes internal order request form for food and supplies for their area; receives and stores.


3. Heats/reheats assigned food and therapeutic diet items such as soups, sauces, salads, starches, meats, fish, poultry, vegetables and desserts by bulk rethermalization. Tests item for palatability; takes and records temperatures for HACCP compliance and adjust accordingly.


4. Portions food items per established quantities.


5. Maintains established food rotations in storage to minimize spoilage and waste. Completes inventory sheets to ensure appropriate supplies are sent to the unit.


6. Portions food for residents at meal times. Assists with table service at meal times.


7. Prepares sandwiches/nourishment items for residents as per prescribed diet requirements.


8. Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils to ensure proper sanitation levels are maintained. Assists with dish pick up and return to kitchen.


9. Records temperatures as per HACCP regulations.


10. Informs supervisor of problems for timely resolution.


11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Grade 10 plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Food Safe Level 1 Certification.
