What we do:

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York Cash Function has a long history of innovation and leadership as a high volume processor of U.S. Banknotes. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art automation to support operations and controls. The Cash Function pays out and receives deposits of currency from depository institutions (DIs), central banks and other governmental counterparties. Incoming deposits are processed to cull out unfit and suspected counterfeit notes and remaining currency is repackaged for recirculation back to the depository institutions.

Your role as Currency Supervisor:

  • Supervise activities of assigned team which may include payments, receipts and/or processing of high value cash shipments to domestic and international depository institutions;

  • Assure high performance, high productivity, efficiency and strong governance;

  • Compile and monitor metrics to ensure operational performance and control objectives meet a high standard;

  • Identify ways to improve business processes and controls and develop solutions;

  • Support business resiliency model and a culture focused on business continuity and capacity building;

  • Train, develop and oversee the daily performance of assigned team members;

  • Maintain strong controls, risk mitigation and compliance in a heavily regulated environment;

  • Set clear and consistent performance expectations and providing clear and actionable feedback.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in operations management with a background in the following: production parameters, business and cost controls supply chain, resiliency and/or business continuity in a factory or production environment.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or financial services operating environment or another regulated industry.

  • Demonstrated management skills including experience leading and motivating a team in an operations environment.

  • Project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and drive projects forward.

  • Strong critical thinking skills combined with ability to synthesize data and analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work collaboratively, especially when dealing with outside stakeholders.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime.
