Head of Capital Formation

Clocktower Group is hiring for a Head of Capital Formation to join our collaborative, entrepreneurial team in Los Angeles, CA.

This is an amazing opportunity to join our leadership team and take ownership of Clocktower Group's fundraising, relationship management and client service efforts. A star candidate will be able to hit the ground running in redesigning our capital formation and investor relations strategy.

What you'll do:

Architect our Capital Formation Strategy. You will strategize with management and internal staff to drive all fund marketing activities, as well as increase engagement and improve marketing processes. You will develop fundraising plans, identify, and maintain prospect lists, manage client relationships, develop and manage client pipeline, and sell products to investors. Liaise with business leads on marketing and client strategy.

Brand Building. You will be responsible for developing our external brand. You will take the lead in developing our client communication strategy, managing our online presence, assisting with investor presentations, DDQs, investor updates other related materials.

Lead a Team. You will manage a rockstar team focusing on investor relations. You will determine the strategic objectives for your team, provide guidance to your direct reports, ensure goals are being met, and empower your team members to grow within their roles.

Event Coordination. You will work with firm partners to plan, execute and run our annual client events that serve to both strengthen existing and develop new relationships.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of business development, capital formation or investor relations experience.
• Substantive relationships with large institutional investors.
• Solid understanding of private equity, venture capital and hedge funds with experience discussing investment strategies, complex fund structures and operational aspects of an investment management firm.
• Process-driven approach to relationship selling.
• Team player who can work collaboratively, but willing to "roll-up" sleeves to get the job done independently.
• Experience working in a small group at an investment management firm, preferably related to investor relations, marketing and investor communications is preferred but not required.
• The firm is currently in a hybrid work environment with employees onsite 3 or 4 days per week in our Santa Monica office.
• We currently require that all personnel and visitors to our office are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus or wear a face covering (subject to any exemptions or accommodations per state and county guidelines.)
