Director Of Cafe Operations

Position summary: This position is responsible for overseeing day to day operations of both City Bakery cafes. The Director of Cafe Operations must serve as a role model for City Bakery employees and in the community. This position requires someone with strong leadership and administrative skills. The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, food and beverage preparation and cleanliness. A continuous improvement mindset and a focus on coaching and developing talent will be a high priority for this position.
Duties:
- Effectively oversee cafe operations within the policies and guidelines of the company, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction at all times
- Ensures smooth operation of prep department, ensuring all food safety policies are being followed, necessary items are prepared/in stock and commissary items are being transferred
- Supports café managers with operating, staffing & personnel issues, including hiring and firing
- Approves weekly schedules to effectively control labor costs and optimize service standards
- Controls day-to-day operations by adjusting labor, ordering food and supplies and offering support to cafe managers
- Controls profit & loss, by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
- Maintains Serv Safe Certification
- Ensures complete and timely execution of marketing & community programs
- Ensures a safe working and customer environment by facilitating safe work behaviors of the team
- Manage time off and vacation requests. Controls manager schedules
- Coach and train on policies, procedures & performance of duties of CB Cafe Leadership team. Ensures talent pipeline is in constant development.
- Observes/supervises cafés during service as needed
- Responsible for opening/closing duties as needed
- Handles and resolves customer feedback
- Communicates with other managers about employee/customer/product issues/equipment issues accordingly
- Informs staff of product, menu changes/issues
- Conducts ongoing training sessions
- Maintains inventories of all designated products and materials
Requirements:
Previous leadership/management experience ( in food & beverage setting)
Availability to work weekends, early mornings and occasionally evenings
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays. Compensation depends on your experience.
