Job description
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Charlestown, MA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Internal Medicine team!
Schedule: Week day shifts, 4x10s + occasional on-call expectations
Pay: $21.25 - $31.00 / hour
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
For example:
- Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00/hr. Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00/hr. Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50/hr. Shift Differential
As an IM Veterinary Assistant, you will:
- Calmly and gently approach and handle our patients according to safety protocols and our core values
- Identify abnormal pathology
- Understand our hospital estimates and can clearly present and explain them to our clients
- Have patience and empathy to address client concerns
- Educate clients in the areas of Internal Medicine and can provide exceptional care for our patients
- Prepare medications and our patients/clients for discharge with concise directions for our clients
- Support your Internal Medicine team in all aspects of care for your patients
