Our veterinarians have advanced training in orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, rehabilitation, ultrasound, echocardiology, and are members of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, and Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.

We practice high-quality medicine every day in the form of wellness exams, preventative care, dentistry, and treatment of sick patients, with the added bonus of opportunities rarely found in most general practices.


Our technicians may also assist with:

  • Rehabilitation and physical therapy, including underwater treadmill sessions, therapeutic exercises, and Class IV laser therapy
  • Complex surgical cases, with our vets performing 40+ different surgical procedures, including TPLO and other orthopedic surgeries as well as complex soft tissue procedures such as brachycephalic airway reconstruction, diaphragmatic hernia repair, perineal urethrostomy, and more  
  • Advanced medical and surgical care for exotic species, including small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for wellness, sick, urgent, and hospitalized patients, including ongoing assessment of vital parameters, pain management, patient comfort, and timely communication of changes to the medical team
  • Perform technical procedures such as venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic radiography, anesthesia induction and monitoring, and comprehensive dental cleanings and polishing in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Assist with surgical and anesthesia cases, including preparation of patients and surgical suites, scrubbing in for procedures, monitoring anesthesia, managing surgical equipment, and supporting advanced orthopedic and complex soft tissue surgeries
  • Educate clients using Fear Free principles, providing clear instructions on preventative care, medication administration, post-operative care, and at-home monitoring while ensuring a low-stress experience for patients and owners
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, support efficient hospital workflow, collaborate closely with veterinarians and support staff, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of veterinary hospital experience in a technical role
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive team member who takes ownership of responsibilities and seeks opportunities to learn and grow
  • Warm, kind, and personable, treating every patient and client with the same care, respect, and attention you would give your own family
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in EzyVet software a plus, but not required
