POSITION: Part-Time Counselor, Summer Camp

REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

PAY RATE: $16/Hour HOURS: 25 Hours/Week - June 5th - August 7th

Our free Summer Camp at Citrus Grove Elementary serves children ages 6-12 from families with limited financial means. We are committed to providing a safe, structured, and enriching environment where every child can thrive throughout the summer months.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Services or the Program Coordinator, the person selected for this position is responsible for supervising, instructing, and assisting participants of the Amigos For Kids Summer Camp in assigned activities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain appropriate records of daily attendance of the program
  • Distribute snacks to program
  • Provide homework assistance to program
  • Deliver academic support and instruction in designated subject
  • Conduct physical activity with program
  • Assist with the coordination and supervision of field
  • Organize and maintain all classrooms, equipment, supplies, and park areas/school playground according to the provider manual and
  • Communicate with parents/caregivers of program participants regarding performance, behavior issues, incidents,
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety
  • Communicate concerns or incidents to immediate
  • Document all accidents, injuries, incidents, complaints, and

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful applicants must be of good moral character and reputation. Must be capable of accepting training, carrying out assigned tasks, communicating orally and in writing, communicating with emergency personnel, and understanding instructions. Must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, and have experience or volunteer work with children in a group setting.

Must:

  • Agree to fingerprinting and a Level 2 background
  • Submit to random drug testing as determined by Amigos For Kids personnel policies and procedures.

  • Sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
  • Have NEVER been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other barrier crimes as listed on the Sworn Disclosure Statement of the Criminal Record Check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, sit, crouch, bend, speak, and
