Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we're pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Quality Team meets all key performance indicators (KPIs) and complies with our Quality Plan and applicable regulatory requirements. You will have the opportunity to ensure spare parts received into the facility meet Alfa Laval standards, customer expectations and federal regulations, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently, this is an onsite position located in Indianapolis, IN.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Program Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex-121210 Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) for spare part inspection in compliance with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation and Buy America CFR and applicable Alfa Laval and Military Standard specifications.
  • Design Quality Inspection Plans for manual hand-tool inspection of spare parts in compliance with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation and Buy America CFR and applicable Alfa Laval and Military Standard specifications.
  • Complete weld inspection according to ANSI/ASNT CP-105, Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel.
  • Crosstrain Quality Technicians on use of the CMM and on use of hand-tools for spare part inspections.
  • Audit CMM inspections and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); continuously improve CMM programs and SOPs for effectiveness.
  • Complete time studies as needed and forecast labor hours for projected work.
  • Support Quality Technicians during inspection and backfill where required.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma tools within the Alfa Laval Performance System to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs in all areas of the Quality department.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games

What you know:

You have a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar, trade school, or relevant experience, and:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality related field
  • Proficiency with hand measuring tools
  • Certified Weld Inspector certification or Welders Workmanship Training certificate (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of WMS and Movex
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs
  • Prior leadership experience is preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Lean Six-Sigma improvement tools including 5s, DMAIC, Kaizen, and SOP's
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

At Alfa Laval, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diverse perspectives and experiences. While we typically welcome applicants from all locations, currently, we are prioritizing candidates who reside in the US or have an established presence in the area.

What's in it for you?

We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval's future success.
