Quality Lead – Composite Manufacturing

Job Description

The Quality Lead is responsible for performing quality operations in a composite manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards & customer requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the Quality Management System, part compliance to customer specifications & completing dimensional inspections including FAI’s.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily quality operations, inspections & audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 & Nadcap standards.
  • Provide technical guidance for manufacturing, engineering & purchasing.
  • Review & approve manufacturing instructions & process documentation.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers & auditors regarding quality requirements.
  • Monitor calibration, inspection records & internal audit processes.

Knowledge / Skills Required

  • Composite fabrication & process specification understanding.
  • Proficiency with PCMM-Arm, laser tracker & dimensional inspection tools.
  • Familiarity with quality system documentation, calibration, internal audits & supplier control.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.

Program Experience

  • Spatial Analyzer, Catia V5, Net Inspect, Ideagen (Inspection Xpert), iTools.
  • ERP systems (Global Shop Solutions preferred).
  • MS Office Suite.

Industry Standard Proficiency

  • AS9100
  • Nadcap Composites
  • Nadcap Chemical Processing
  • Aircraft manufacturers process & material specifications
  • ITAR

Preferred Experience

  • 5 years in composite manufacturing quality.
  • 3 years inspection experience.
