Job description

General Purpose of Job

The Quality Leader position is responsible for the leadership and coordination of quality management system in regards to the finished goods produced in the Packaging facility. This position will lead the necessary on-going activities required to support existing products and ensure the facility has ongoing compliance with the Customers and the Business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individual is responsible for finished goods product quality produced in the facility.        

  • Responsible for maintaining quality compliance and rectifying non-conformances.

  • Creates corrective actions under the supervision of the Manager.

  • Develops and retains an understanding of the quality processes.

  • Understand industry standards and customer expectations.

  • Communicates clearly to both internal and external customers.

  • Consistently respond to any customer complaints with a sense of urgency and confidence.

  • Collaborate with plant leadership and production employees on quality investigations, responses and solutions.

  • Ensure the facility is quality compliant and follows quality guidelines and processes.

  • Ensure and assist with the enforcement of quality expectations across departments in production.

  • Strategizes and collaborates with team members to resolve quality issues, working toward continuous improvement.

  • Understands and uses data to support communication and drive immediate results.

  • Meets deadlines and works toward achieving and exceeding target plant metrics.

  • Maintains records and compliance documentation in an organized manner.

  • Assist with various quality and standards audits to ensure continued conformance and certification (SQF, AIB, ISO).

  • Supervise/Schedule activities of the production floor and internal audit teams.

  • Maintain knowledge and processes around regulatory requirements for food packaging.

  • All Packaging employees must: Follow and comply with all food safety and quality policies. Report any food safety issues or concerns to the Site Leadership Team.

Job Requirements

Education: 

Bachelors Degree preferred 

Experience: 

Paperboard Packaging experience, preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

SQF, AIB, ISO preferred.
