Shift: 1st shift Full-time, 10-hour shift Monday - Friday, Saturdays as needed
Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a local manufacturing company in Watseka, IL to hire a Quality Inspector for their paint line! You'll be responsible for inspecting painted parts and products to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards. This role includes visual inspections, measuring, documenting results, and communicating any defects to the paint line and quality teams.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform visual inspections of painted parts for defects such as runs, drips, sags, thin coverage, overspray, contamination, or color mismatches
  • Verify paint thickness, gloss, and adhesion using proper measuring tools and testing equipment
  • Ensure parts meet cosmetic and functional standards before moving to the next production stage
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection data, test results, and quality documentation
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming products and communicate findings to paint line operators and supervisors
  • Assist in calibration checks of inspection tools and maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection area
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve paint quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:
  • Strong attention to detail and visual inspection accuracy
  • Ability to read and understand quality standards, work instructions, and paint specifications
  • Basic knowledge of paint application and curing processes in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to use gauges, micrometers, gloss meters, and other inspection tools
  • Proficient in completing inspection forms and maintaining traceable records
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in quality inspection within manufacturing or paint line environment preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems is a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs throughout the shift
  • Ability to visually detect paint imperfections and color variations
