DDS Engineering & Surveying, LLP (DDSE), is an experienced and highly qualified natural gas/civil engineering, permitting and survey firm that has been performing consulting engineering and construction services in the natural gas industry for many years. We currently perform these engineering services related to natural gas transmission, distribution main design, station design (M&R, gate stations, & regulator stations) & customer services (residential and commercial) for a variety of natural gas customers throughout the Northeast. Our dynamic team is comprised of experienced natural gas engineers, civil and mechanical engineers, surveyors, gas construction personnel as well as in-house staff expertise in the areas of legal, compliance, and safety. Integrity Services Specialist
Pay Range: The pay range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 annually. This range represents the expected annual compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. DDS is seeking an Integrity Services Specialist to serve as a technical leader for our growing integrity team and a client-facing subject matter expert for both transmission and distribution integrity programs. This role will lead and support a wide range of integrity management efforts including, but not limited to, ILI pigging planning and support, IDI inspections and reporting, ECDA and ILI verification digs, direct assessments, integrity management planning and compliance support.
This is a leadership role for a highly capable mid-level or senior professional who can wear many hats balancing technical execution, field support, client engagement, report writing, and business development responsibilities within a fast-paced consulting environment. The successful candidate will be expected to provide technical judgment, guide project execution, support proposal development, write reports, analyze data, mentor staff, work directly with clients, and help grow DDS's integrity services. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical credibility with meaningful field experience, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead both people and work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical execution and quality oversight for integrity management projects serving gas distribution and transmission clients.
  • Serve as DDS's integrity SME in client meetings, project reviews, planning discussions, business development conversations, and proposal efforts.
  • Support and oversee TIMP and DIMP related work including integrity planning, compliance support, risk-informed planning, class location review, HCA and MCA review, and associated program documentation.
  • Lead and support ILI pigging planning, vendor coordination, appurtenance installation, run support, data review, anomaly evaluation, dig selection, and repair or remediation recommendations.
  • Lead and support IDI inspections, data analysis, report development, condition assessment, and inspection or repair recommendations.
  • Support ECDA, direct assessments, and ILI verification dig efforts including field coordination, direct examination support, documentation review, and final technical recommendations.
  • Support TVC reconstitution and related integrity evaluations through direct examination and integration of OES and/or MMT results.
  • Review field data, inspection findings, and integrity datasets to develop practical conclusions, defensible recommendations, and clear client-facing deliverables.
  • Prepare and review reports, technical memoranda, work plans, integrity evaluations, and supporting documentation for both internal and external use.
  • Develop scopes of work, technical approaches, manpower estimates, and proposals for integrity-related projects and programs.
  • Help lead and develop DDS integrity staff through mentoring, technical guidance, training, and review of work products.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, corrosion personnel, engineering staff, and client representatives to ensure work is technically sound, well communicated, and executed efficiently.
  • Support business development by helping identify client needs, expand existing relationships, and position DDS for additional integrity and corrosion-related opportunities.
  • Participate in field activities as needed to support inspections, investigations, direct examinations, validation efforts, troubleshooting, and client confidence.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Corrosion, or a related technical field is preferred, though equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in pipeline integrity, corrosion, integrity management, or related gas utility and pipeline applications. Candidates with deeper or particularly strong niche experience are encouraged to apply.
  • AMPP/NACE certifications in cathodic protection, corrosion, coatings, or integrity-related disciplines are highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or materially supporting integrity management work for gas transmission and/or distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of some combination of the following: TIMP, ILI, IDI, ECDA, direct assessments, verification digs, class location review, HCA/MCA review, or related integrity compliance and assessment programs.
  • Experience managing staff, mentoring junior personnel, or helping build technical capability within a team.
  • Experience developing proposals, scopes, budgets, and technical approaches for consulting or utility clients.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, recommendations, work plans, and client deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work through integrity data, spreadsheets, field findings, and inspection results in a practical and defensible way.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to represent DDS effectively in client-facing discussions.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, or team development experience, whether in a formal supervisory role or as a senior technical resource.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in field work and travel as project needs require.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience leading or supporting integrity management programs for both gas distribution and gas transmission systems.
  • Experience with ILI planning, launcher/receiver coordination, vendor interface, run support, data review, anomaly prioritization, and repair recommendation development.
  • Experience with IDI inspections, report development, and inspection or repair recommendation development.
  • Experience with ECDA, direct assessment methodologies, and ILI verification dig planning or execution.
  • Experience with class location analysis, HCA/MCA review, and integrity compliance planning.
  • Experience with TVC reconstitution support, direct examination, and use of OES and/or MMT in integrity evaluations.
  • Experience with cathodic protection, corrosion control, AC mitigation, CIS, ACVG, DCVG, ACCA, PCM, rectifier troubleshooting, soil resistivity, or related corrosion field activities.
  • Additional industry credentials, operator qualifications, or inspection-related certifications are a plus.
  • Strong Excel capability and comfort working with large data sets, inspection data, tabular analysis, and technically defensible screening or recommendation workflows.

This role may be based remotely, though preferred office locations include Rochester, NY; Southborough, MA; and Canonsburg, PA.
