They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

Education Qualifications:

Essentia Health St. Mary's - Detroit Lakes is seeking a practitioner interested in a part-time Emergency Medicine position to work 1 weekend a month. Our team-oriented and fast-paced ED provider group consists of board-certified physicians and advanced practice clinicians who collaborate to provide patient-centric care to the area. • Emergency Medicine coverage entails 1 weekend a month, 4pm to 2am Saturday and Sunday for an average of 16 - 24 hours/month.
• Will involve care for all ages; must be trained in family medicine
• Campus supports primary and a number of specialty care services in clinic (including a very busy Urgent Care) with the hospital-side including a women's/birthing center, MSP, ICU, OR, 24-hour CRNA services, imaging services including CT, MRI and digital mammography and laboratory services.
• Level III Trauma designation - requires certification in ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment.
• Opportunity to work additional hours, if needed/wanted in the hospital.
• Previous Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience is preferred!

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
• Previous Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience is preferred!

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
• Current certification in CPR
• TNCC/ATLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• National certification, in applicable area.
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
