The Senior Manager, Pricing & Yield will play a crucial role in optimizing our freight operations by strategically procuring services and establishing competitive pricing structures. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the freight industry, market dynamics, and be adept at preparing RFPs for review by the director of operations and other stakeholders.

Position Summary:ย  The Senior Manager, Pricing & Yield is responsible for all aspects of Pricing & Yield Management. This position will interact with senior management and clients/carriers regarding elevated issues on a regular basis, while supervising the day-to-day execution of the department and staff.ย 


Essential Responsibilities

  • Be the Champion and Drive data analytics and automation for Pricing (Contract & Spot)
  • Manage workflow to ensure that client relationships and deliverables are being maintained and met with regards to all Pricing needs.ย 
  • Work with senior leaders and project team in determining requirements for projects, testing, and, pricing, and implementation
  • Responsible for automating and streamlining the processes of Pricing and Yields Management. Analytics and Data driven.ย 
  • Set department goals, monitor performance and evaluate results to ensure that the department objectives are met and align with the needs of clients and of Zuum Technologies
  • Participate in refining and executing consistent strategies in alignment with the Companyโ€™s strategic growth initiatives
  • Work closely with department heads and leadership to review potential new opportunity models to ensure delivery can be accomplished
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all levels of operations and sales to ensure proactive, solution-oriented resolution of all pricing and yield items.
  • Lead the charge for all data studies to determine savings opportunity for potential clientsย 

Supervisory Responsibilitiesย 

  • Manage the team and develop and measure KPIs and goals against performance
  • Work with our Talent Acquisition and Development team to identify, select,ย  interview, hire and provide effectiveย  training for pricing and yield management team

Essential Skills, Credentials, Experience, Education

  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience, with an emphasis on carrier pricing & negotiation, automation of pricing processes and data analytics.ย 
  • Strong understanding how to use and execute upon using Business Intelligence Data to dive all these factors of Pricing.
  • Must have strong Analytical Skills and expertise in tools for automation and data analytics
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, and leadership ability.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing pricing business plan strategies and meeting goals.
  • Broad product knowledge of TMS applications & Analytics.
  • Strong process/project management skills with ability to follow up and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with an executive presence.
  • Sense of urgency with ability to prioritize without compromising quality.
  • Proficient in using Google and Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bonus points: Operational understanding of Transportation Management.

  • Must be able to travel up to 30%.
