C&F Mortgage

Virginia Beach, VA

Full-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated individual to join our team as a Operations Workflow Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, grow, and build a strong foundation in mortgage operations.

In this role, you will support our Operations Workflow Manager by helping keep processes organized, priorities moving, and day-to-day workflow on track. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative and coordination skills, a natural ability to stay organized, and a genuine desire to learn. While the skillset is similar to an executive assistant in terms of organization, communication, and follow-through, this position is designed as an entry-level opportunity with room for growth.

Mortgage experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the right mindset, work ethic, and transferable skills — and we’ll teach the rest. This role is ideal for someone who naturally creates order, follows through without being asked, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

This is an in-office opportunity based at our Virginia Beach branch, offering the chance to collaborate closely with our team and the Operations Workflow Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Operations Workflow Manager
  • Help organize priorities, tasks, communications, and workflow across multiple projects and deadlines
  • Track assignments, follow up on open items, and help ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining organized records
  • Support workflow management by monitoring updates, maintaining reports, and helping identify items that need attention
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members across the organization
  • Help maintain process documentation, checklists, and internal resources
  • Assist with special projects and other operational support tasks as needed
  • Bring a proactive mindset to problem-solving and a willingness to jump in where needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Good judgment, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
  • Strong follow-through and ownership of assigned tasks
  • Comfort working with systems, spreadsheets, and general office technology
  • A proactive, “I’ll figure it out” mindset

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–2 years of administrative, coordinator, internship, office support, customer service, or similar experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience supporting a busy team or manager is a plus
  • Mortgage or financial services experience is a plus, but not required

Core Competencies

  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset
  • Eagerness to learn and grow
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Professionalism and reliability
  • Team-oriented and collaborative approach
