What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Workflow Coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Workflow Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in process management, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field. Familiarity with workflow management software like Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project, as well as proficiency in Excel, is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities set top performers apart in this role. These skills are critical for ensuring efficient operations, timely task completion, and seamless coordination across teams.

What are some common challenges Workflow Coordinators face when managing multiple projects simultaneously?

Workflow Coordinators often juggle several projects at once, which can make prioritization and time management challenging. Balancing shifting deadlines, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule requires strong organizational skills. Effective communication is key, as Workflow Coordinators must regularly update stakeholders and resolve bottlenecks to keep projects moving smoothly. Developing standardized processes and leveraging workflow management software can help manage these demands and reduce stress.

Job description

LaForce is one of the largest distributors of doors, door frames and hardware in the United States andย we are seeking a highly organized Workflow Coordinator to manage the full lifecycle of projectsโ€”from estimating and quoting through order entry and project completion. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of service. In this position, communication is essential. You will work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to develop quotes, coordinate schedules, and manage orders.

What Youโ€™ll Do:
You will analyze customer needs and develop detailed, accurate quotes by pricing materials and collaborating with sales staff. Once quotes are issued, youโ€™ll follow up with customers, assess project timelines, and convert opportunities into orders by entering data into LaForce systems. Throughout each project, youโ€™ll serve as the primary communication linkโ€”keeping customers informed on timelines, delivery dates, and product availability while resolving questions or issues as they arise. Youโ€™ll coordinate across departments and vendors to ensure projects move forward smoothly and on schedule.

What Youโ€™ll Bring:

Ideally, you will have a bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience, such as 1-2 years in project coordination or a related field. 2-5 years of military experience is considered as a substitute for relevant professional experience. Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. You should be proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working with a wide range of personalitiesโ€”both internally and externally. Strong communication skills (phone and electronic) are essential, along with the ability to interpret customer needs and clearly present information.

What We Offer:

At LaForce, we believe in rewarding great work. Hereโ€™s what you can expect:

  • Competitive salary
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Volunteer time through our volunteer program
  • Wellness programs and resources to keep you feeling your best

At LaForce, your work directly supports projects that serve businesses and communities. Youโ€™ll be part of a collaborative team environment where accuracy, communication, and problem-solving are valued โ€” and where your contributions help ensure successful project execution from start to finish. If youโ€™re ready to start building your career as a Workflow Coordinator, apply now. We look forward to meeting you!
