This is a demanding leadership position that must act with urgency, take ownership of results, and run warehouse fulfillment like a disciplined business unit.
This role will lead warehouse execution, logistics/freight, labor planning, safety, process discipline, and NetSuite WMS optimization following the company's ERP transition. The ideal candidate has strong people leadership experience, industrial or wholesale distribution experience, and direct experience with ERP/WMS implementation or post-go-live stabilization.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
โ€ข Own day-to-day warehouse fulfillment operations for the Greenville facility, including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and order flow.
โ€ข Lead, coach, and hold accountable warehouse supervisors, leads, and associates; make decisions related to hiring, performance management, schedules, staffing structure, and team development.
โ€ข Take ownership of warehouse-side NetSuite WMS adoption, process discipline, and continuous improvement in partnership with internal IT, external consultants, and senior leadership.
โ€ข Evaluate and improve NetSuite WMS workflows related to receiving, order flow, bin/location management, employee compliance, reporting, and cycle count execution.
โ€ข Develop a 90-day current-state assessment and improvement roadmap for NetSuite WMS optimization, warehouse layout, inventory staging, putaway strategy, and fulfillment flow.
โ€ข Create and implement practical warehouse KPIs for labor productivity, fulfillment accuracy, order flow, receiving performance, shipping performance, safety, overtime, and WMS compliance.
โ€ข Use data, floor observation, team feedback, and process analysis to identify bottlenecks, reduce labor waste, improve accuracy, and increase throughput.
โ€ข Develop strategic inventory staging and putaway locations to improve labor efficiency, SKU flow, pick paths, and warehouse organization.
โ€ข Partner with inventory control, purchasing, sales, finance, and leadership to understand inventory position and support reduction of slow-moving or unnecessary inventory.
โ€ข Own logistics and freight operations connected to warehouse fulfillment, including carrier performance, freight process improvement, shipping reliability, and cost-control opportunities.
โ€ข Strengthen OSHA compliance, safety procedures, equipment standards, housekeeping, training, documentation, and employee accountability.
โ€ข Build and enforce standard operating procedures for core warehouse processes and ensure consistent training and cross-training across the team.
โ€ข Develop high-potential team members for future leadership roles, including assistant warehouse manager or supervisor positions.
โ€ข Present warehouse performance, risks, priorities, and improvement plans to the General Manager and senior leadership team.
โ€ข Consistent alignment and reinforcement of "best practice" approach for any process or task.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
โ€ข 7+ years of experience in warehouse operations, fulfillment, distribution, logistics, or supply chain leadership.
โ€ข Proven experience leading warehouse teams in an industrial distribution, wholesale distribution, or similar product-based environment.
โ€ข Direct experience with ERP/WMS implementation, post-go-live stabilization, or WMS optimization required; NetSuite ERP/WMS experience strongly preferred.
โ€ข Strong understanding of receiving, putaway, bin management, RF scanning, wave picking, pick/pack/ship workflows, mobile transactions, shipping, and logistics.
โ€ข Experience building KPIs, reporting routines, SOPs, and accountability systems in a warehouse or distribution environment.
โ€ข Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, hold teams accountable, and develop supervisors or leads.
โ€ข Comfortable partnering with IT, consultants, purchasing, inventory control, sales, finance, and senior leadership.
โ€ข Able to present operational performance, risks, and improvement plans in senior leadership meetings.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills, urgency, follow-through, organization, and attention to detail.
FIRST 90-DAY EXPECTATIONS
โ€ข Complete a full current-state assessment of warehouse operations and NetSuite WMS usage.
โ€ข Identify priority gaps in receiving, order flow, cycle counting, reporting, employee compliance, warehouse layout, and inventory staging.
โ€ข Deliver a practical NetSuite WMS optimization and warehouse improvement roadmap with priorities, risks, resources, and timeline.
โ€ข Recommend KPI structure, daily management routines, and supervisor accountability expectations.
12-MONTH SUCCESS OUTCOMES
โ€ข NetSuite WMS is better optimized and adopted across warehouse operations.
โ€ข Warehouse KPIs are developed, tracked, reviewed, and used to drive accountability.
โ€ข Inventory staging, putaway strategy, fulfillment flow, labor productivity, and shipping reliability are measurably improved.
โ€ข Replenishment and picking/waving process optimized.
โ€ข The warehouse operates with stronger process discipline, safety compliance, supervisor ownership, and scalability.
