The foundations of our business are galvanized and reinforcement wire, though we also produce an assortment of specialty wires to fit almost any need. Machine Operator
Our manufacturing firm is seeking a Machine Operator- Wire Drawing. This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a team within a fast-paced and safe environment. The ideal candidate for this role has a minimum of 6 months experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail, has excellent attendance and is committed to workplace safety.
Broad Functions and Objectives:
Use basic processes to set up, adjust, and operate assigned machines and auxiliary equipment to produce wire and wire products.
Principal Accountabilities/Duties:
  1. Read, understand and follow production schedule. Interpret and follow basic written instructions, drawings, and documents
  2. Perform setups on assigned machine(s)
  3. Detect and report faulty processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  4. Maintains standard housekeeping standards
  5. Observes all safety rules including reporting of all industrial accidents and any unsafe conditions.
  6. Check with lead person at beginning of shift to determine the production schedule
  7. Set-up and maintain wire drawing machines according to production schedule and quality standards - making minor adjustments as necessary
  8. Load rod coils on to drawing machine payoffs.
  9. Operator and run machine to produce a finished product.
  10. Perform quality inspections on regular basis throughout shift.
  11. Perform other duties as requested.
  12. Must be able to work rotating shift schedule every 4 months.
  13. Must be able to work Saturdays and overtime as needed.

Compensation
  • $20.00 Hourly Rate
  • $1,500 Retention Bonus after successful completion of 3 months and 6 months
  • Incentive Pay
  • Shift Differential for 2nd & 3rd Shift
  • Pay for Knowledge

Qualifications:
  1. Basic understanding of production and machine operation
  2. Ability to use tools and precision equipment
  3. Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent use of arms and legs, and climbing.
  4. Must have excellent attendance and work record
  5. Must have machine experience.
  6. Must be able to work/communicate well in a team environment.
  7. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts
  8. Must be able to work in cold/hot temperature
  9. Must be able to do heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. or more
