Machine Operator - Wire & Cable Manufacturing | Forklift Required
Union, OH
Pay: $20.50 - $22.50 per hour (based on shift and experience)
Shift: 1st Monday - Thursday 7AM - 4:30 PM and Friday 7AM - 12PM (45-minute lunch)

Position Overview:
The Machine Operator in Union, OH will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery that winds cable onto spools, ensuring efficiency, quality and safe spooling according to specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and prepare the cable machine by adjusting tension, speed and other machine settings based on the cable type and spooling specifications.
  • Cut and spool all different cable sizes using cable cutting machinery.
  • Track footage of cable on stock cable reels and update cable lot cards.
  • Inspect the cable during the spooling action to identify any defects and ensure the spooled cable meets quality standards.
  • Package (Strap & Skid) finished product
  • Pick and store cable in designated locations using a forklift
  • Adhere to production schedules
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred
  • Forklift and walkie license mandatory
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues
  • Time management
  • Strong communication skills
