Job description

Cable Connections is looking for an experienced Electronics Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll set up, operate, and maintain automated and semi-automated equipment used to manufacture high-quality wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical products. You'll play a key role in ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, adjust, and operate crimping machines, wire processing equipment, applicators, and related production machinery.
  • Perform machine changeovers and verify proper equipment setup before production runs.
  • Conduct first article inspections and validate production processes to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Measure crimp heights, perform pull tests, and complete visual inspections to verify product quality.
  • Monitor machine performance, identify production issues, and troubleshoot equipment or tooling problems.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class II/III standards, customer specifications, and company quality requirements.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, tooling adjustments, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Assist with wire harness, cable assembly, and electro-mechanical assembly operations as needed.
  • Accurately document production data, quality checks, and machine performance records.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support new product launches and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Electronics Machine Operator, Production Machine Operator, or Manufacturing Machine Operator in an electronics or wire harness manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating wire processing, crimping, cutting, stripping, or automated assembly equipment preferred.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and crimp height gauges.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot machine, tooling, and product quality issues.
  • Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative manufacturing team.
