Machine Operator – Draw Bench / Wire Pulling Equipment (2nd Shift)

Electron Beam Technologies, Inc. – Kankakee, IL

Schedule: Monday – Thursday
Hours: 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM
Overtime available as needed

Electron Beam Technologies is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to operate our draw bench and wire pulling equipment used in the production of high-quality welding cable and industrial products.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience operating equipment that pulls, draws, straightens, or forms metal wire, rod, tubing, or cable through dies or tooling.

What You'll Do
  • Set up and operate draw bench equipment according to work instructions.
  • Pull wire, cable, rod, or similar materials through drawing dies while maintaining proper tension and alignment.
  • Monitor machine performance, pull force, speeds, and product quality throughout production.
  • Perform tooling and die changes.
  • Thread material through equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Measure finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Inspect for dimensional accuracy and surface defects.
  • Record production data and maintain quality documentation.
  • Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting.
  • Assist with changeovers and preventative maintenance.
  • Operate overhead hoists, forklifts, or material handling equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Experience We're Looking For

  • Cold Drawing equipment
  • Cable manufacturing equipment
  • Metal forming machinery
  • Roll forming or similar production equipment

Manufacturing experience with wire, cable, steel, copper, aluminum, tubing, or similar products is highly preferred.

Qualifications
  • Manufacturing machine operation experience required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read work orders and production documentation.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working around moving machinery and rotating equipment.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
