Wire Drawing Operator

Monday–Friday | Weekends Off | Paid Training | Competitive Pay

Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Checon, LLC, a division of Alloy Holdings, is hiring dependable, motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team in Glens Falls, NY.

Manufacturing experience is a plus, but it's not required. If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy hands-on work, and are eager to learn, we'll provide the training you need to succeed.

What You'll Do
  • Set up and operate wire drawing equipment to reduce metal rod and wire to required specifications
  • Load wire, rods, coils, and reels into production equipment
  • Monitor machine operation, wire tension, lubrication, and drawing speed to ensure quality production
  • Operate annealing furnaces and related production equipment as required
  • Inspect wire using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Make machine adjustments to maintain product quality and minimize downtime
  • Spool, coil, and package finished wire according to production requirements
  • Record production data, inspection results, and material usage
  • Perform basic machine adjustments and assist with routine equipment maintenance
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and hoists to safely move materials as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Manufacturing, wire drawing, or machine operation experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
