Job description

Clayton Services is searching for a Wire Drawing Operator to join a thriving manufacturing company in the Humble, Texas area. The Wire Drawing Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring industrial drawing equipment used to reduce and shape material to required production specifications.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $17.00–$19.00/hour, depending on experience
Benefits: Excellent benefits available upon hire.
Schedule: Fixed 2-2-3 schedule, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Wire Drawing Operator Responsibilities:

  • Inspect production equipment before beginning operations.
  • Set up and operate industrial drawing machinery.
  • Install and change dies according to production requirements.
  • Monitor machine conditions and process parameters.
  • Inspect products throughout production for quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Collect samples for required quality testing.
  • Record production quantities, downtime, scrap, and other operating information.
  • Identify equipment problems and submit maintenance requests when needed.
  • Assist with product and material handling.
  • Maintain accurate production and inventory records.
  • Maintain an organized work area according to 5S standards.
  • Follow all plant safety, quality, and production procedures.


Wire Drawing Operator Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to set up and operate industrial machinery.
  • Basic understanding of dimensional measurements and metrology.
  • Ability to recognize production and quality deviations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely handle dies, tooling, materials, and production equipment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Previous ERP or production-system experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work a fixed day or night 12-hour schedule.


Wire Drawing Operator Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or industrial machine-operation experience preferred.
  • Wire drawing experience is highly desirable but not required for candidates with transferable machine-operation experience.
  • Experience with wire and cable, metals, extrusion, rolling, tube/pipe production, or similar manufacturing operations is a plus.
