Salary: $80,000-$85,000/Annually

Role Description: The Electrical CAD Drafter must have 5+ years of experience. We are seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Drafter to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing clear, complete, and accurate documentation, ensuring attention to detail while adhering to budget constraints.

The role involves creating routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics based on rough sketches or notes provided by engineering teams, following defined CAD standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and detailed drawings, including layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics, based on sketches or notes from engineers.

- Apply knowledge of Electrical concepts (e.g., UL508, NFPA) to ensure proper drafting of components.

- Ensure all drawings adhere to company and client-specific CAD standards.

- Draft designs from engineering documentation with precision and attention to detail.

- Perform visual comparisons between design components and datasheets, ensuring electrical terminations are accurately drafted.

- Print drawing sets for quality assurance review and incorporate feedback from the team.

- Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and other team members via phone, email, or other mediums.

- Review and redline drawings as needed, addressing any questions or concerns with the engineering team.

- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and customer information.

- Work with a design team to meet quality standards and deliver projects on time and on budget.

- Follow industry guidelines and best practices in all drafting activities.

- Ensure compliance with office policies and procedures.

- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and technical development to stay current in the field.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

- Working knowledge of Electrical concepts (e.g., UL508, NFPA, etc.).

- Proficiency with AutoCAD & AutoCAD Electrical; experience with Vault is a plus.

- Familiarity with the Windows 11 operating system.

- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and other related software.

- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams and other designers.

- Ability to work with multiple CAD standards.

- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

- Product pride and ownership of work.

Experience Requirements:

- AAS degree in Computer-Aided Drafting/Design or a related field is preferred.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical, preferably 5+ years.

- 3 to 7 years of experience in drafting within the electrical field.

- Knowledge of electrical terminology and concepts, including ladder, loop, and PID diagrams.

- Strong written, verbal, and mathematical communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with engineers and management.

Other Responsibilities:

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Cooperate effectively as part of the design team, working closely with management to produce high-quality, error-free engineering work.

- Be mindful of project schedules and budget constraints, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

- Treat all proprietary information with confidentiality.

- Use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and AutoCAD effectively to support work.

- Continuously develop technical skills to improve performance in the role.

Education: AAS degree in Computer-Aided Drafting/Design or a related field is preferred.
