Location: Romulus, MI

Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) in accordance with established PM schedules and work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and unplanned downtime in a timely and safe manner.
  • Support equipment startups, changeovers, and shutdowns as required.

Equipment & Facility Support
  • Maintain wire drawing machines, pickling equipment, pumps, tanks, conveyors, forklifts (non-certified maintenance only), and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform basic facility maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, compressed air, and building repairs.
  • Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete maintenance work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Document PM activities, repairs, parts used, and observations.
  • Report recurring issues, equipment conditions, or safety concerns to supervision.
  • Support maintenance records required for ISO and audit purposes.

Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, electrical safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions when possible; escalate hazards when necessary.
  • Support compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA regulations and internal safety policies.

Quality & Operational Support
  • Support production quality by ensuring equipment operates within defined parameters.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions related to equipment failures.
  • Support internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Housekeeping & General Duties
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance work areas.
  • Properly store tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Maintenance or Operations Management.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude in industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime or on-call as required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with wire drawing, pickling, or similar industrial processes.
  • Training or certification in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
