  • Perform machine set-ups and tooling changes to accommodate various mesh sizes, gauges, and configurations specific to mine mesh standards.
  • Conduct start-up, in-process, and final quality checks to ensure weld integrity, panel dimensions, and wire spacing meet strict mining safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to wire feed, weld consistency, alignment, and material flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools, dies, and spare parts are properly stored.
  • Accurately complete production logs, quality checklists, and batch records.
  • Read and interpret production work orders, blueprints, and mine mesh specifications.
  • Assist with loading and feeding large wire coils; coordinate with material handlers as needed.
  • Conduct daily and scheduled preventive maintenance on mine mesh machinery.

  • Contribute ideas for process improvement, equipment efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leads, coordinators, or management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Ability to interpret mine mesh blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds, bend, and work on your feet in a production environment.
  • Comfortable working around large, automated machinery and computer-controlled systems.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality required.
  • Welding background and/or formal mechanical training is a plus.

An aptitude test is required for selected candidates.
