Medical Receptionist Wellness

Location: Monroe, GA, 30655

Position Summary

The Patient Support Representative will support the Front Desk / Welcome Receptionist and Check Out / Appointment Finalization staff members; cross training as assigned, ensure check-in location is staffed appropriately, ensure all duties assigned to this department are carried out appropriately; communicate all necessary information with team members and management as required. All while showing kindness and respect in all patients, visitors, and team member interactions. This position will also oversee the ancillary services in conjunction with the Patient Support Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all OFHC policies per OFHC Employee Manual and other distributed policies.
  • Always follow HIPAA guidelines and respect patient confidentiality in all that is done.
  • Always follow OSHA Guidelines assuring workplace safety when applicable.
  • Work as a cooperative team member with all departments of OFHC.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership while following the chain of command to assure all issues are properly addressed.
  • Complete all assignments from Management as directed and in the requested time including monthly reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist patients with Patient Portal and Healow as needed.
  • Review encounters, messages, and e-mails within a timely manner and document appropriately in charts.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist other staff members as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and training as directed by Management.
  • Maintain clean, clutter free and HIPAA compliant workstation at all times.
  • Work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Ensure all duties assigned to check-in staff are carried out appropriately.
  • Audit staff members workflows and assignments.
  • Address complaints from staff members, patients, or other visitors to our facility.
  • Participate in project teams as assigned to assist with writing training manuals and training staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous Sales and Marketing experience is plus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of EMR systems.
  • Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Maintains current notary.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health record / electronic medical record systems.
