DUTIES
The Shift Technical Advisor is responsible for providing the technical expertise to understand the approved safety basis for operations of the facility and to evaluate the impact of proposed changes/modifications on the safe operation of the facility. Specific Responsibilities:
1) Serving as primary support team member for the Operations Manager and Shift Manager to ensure daily operations are safe, effective, and performed in accordance with approved procedures
2) Interfacing support organizations to understand planned operations within the facility and ensure activities are following facility safety basis authorized work
3) Performing troubleshooting and improvement activities for emerging issues within the operations management scope of responsibility to resolve issues and improve effectiveness in implementation of compliance requirements
4) Serving in a project management role as needed for coordination of large, cross-cutting activities within the facility that involve multiple interfaces that cross organizational lines
5) Presenting technical briefings or presentations, as required, that describe and explain approved facility operations and compliance implementation methods
6) Evaluating proposed modifications or changes against the approved Documented Safety Analysis via the Unreviewed Safety Question
7) Determining process to ensure changes are within the scope and methods appropriate for the facility
8) Provide on-call coverage for assigned weekends based upon a rotation with others in the group; on-call is as needed which may or may not require weekend work for the assigned weekend
EDUCATION
BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience required or an MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience. The Shift Technical Advisor is responsible for providing the technical expertise to understand the approved safety basis for operations of the facility and to evaluate the impact of proposed changes/modifications on the safe operation of the facility.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
